We want to put a face on Brain Injuries Think it can not happen to you or someone you love? Think again.
We are not a nationwide organization, we are in your backyard, we are your neighbors, and we are very much interested in helping the children, young adults and their families who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury right here in our hometown.
We are transparent We will show you how and where we spend the money we raise and answer your questions about FABI as fully and as quickly as we can.
We are serious about fun! We know that the many of our fundraising events are just down right fun and that is one of the reasons you support us. But we never lose sight of the very real reason that FABI was started. We aim to strike a balance between the two.
Why the thumbs up? After your loved one suffers a severe brain injury. You find yourself looking for any type of sign of movement from them.
As they start to regain consciousness one of the first signs that you will see, is the “thumbs up”.
We hope many families get this sign.
We want to make the recovery count! If we do all the above...then we make all of their recoveries count.
This non-profit organization was formed because our lives were changed in a dramatic way in August of 2007. Living, loving, and encouraging a survivor of brain injury for the past several years has not only shown us how hard it is to find the answers, but how difficult it can be to get someone to really care about the issues that occur after the fact. Our Mission: To put our brains, hearts and energy into raising money that:
Provides support to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital ONRT Department for their specialized care for children and families who are affected by brain injury.
Fund ongoing education and awareness into the causes and/or prevention of acquired and traumatic brain injuries.
We hope to promote understanding and information regarding brain injury in children, young adults and supporting their families.
